3 Months

That's right people he's three months! He is pretty much the cutest thing around. He is smiling at everything and everyone. He talks non stop and has started mimicking sounds. He no longer hates tummy time and is working on rolling over. He loves being carried in his carrier so he can see what's going on. He also likes to lick his carrier along with everything else. My mom had bought him a Sophie teething toy that he loves to "make out" with. If you aren't careful he will lick your arm while holding him.

This kid can't stay still

Also my sister is visiting! We are so excited she is here. This is her first time meeting Henry and her first time in Texas. She has turned out to be Henry's favorite person. He loves to stare at her and smile. We are doing all the tourist things and loving it. We will be sad when she has to go back home.

Introducing the Coolest Nursery....Ever!

After I found out I was pregnant we had bought this cute blanket. We were walking around downtown with some friends and went to a craft flea market. It's pretty much where a bunch of hipster artists get together and sell their stuff. I was in heaven. Anyways, we saw this Pac Mac blanket and had to have it. We didn't care if we were having a boy or a girl. So once we found out we were having a boy we had to decide the theme of his nursery. Well if you know us at all you know we aren't exactly traditional. Together we thought how about old school video games. We then narrowed it down to Pac Man since we already had the blanket.
The blanket that started it all
We painted his room colors that he will hopefully like until he is old enough to paint his own room. We kept the Pac Man decorations to a minimum. We didn't want it to be too busy. So introducing the nursery you wish you had as a kid.

Jealous much? I know I would have killed to have this room when I was little. So the next best thing is living vicariously through my child. Hope we can inspire other soon to-be parents. Just remember just because he is a baby doesn't mean his room needs to scream baby theme.

2 Months Already

I can't believe how fast time flies by when you have a baby. I feel like Henry was born yesterday. Well he wasn't. He was born two months ago. TWO MONTHS! He is growing and changing so much. I didn't realize how much he had changed until I compared his one month photo to his two month photo. They look like two totally different babies.

Big things are happening with this kid. He has started "talking". He doesn't actually talk. We all know this means lots of oohhs and coos. It is the cutest thing ever. He talks all the time and to everything. He loves talking to the pac man decals on his wall. He has started smiling, all the time. He doesn't love tummy time but is really good at getting his head up. According to his doctor he will be rolling over soon. He still loves rap music. Such a gangster baby.

He is the cutest
We had his two month check up today. If you don't know it is also the first appointment with shots. I had been dreading this part for weeks. Everyone has told me their horror stories and how their baby cried so much that they did too. I was prepared to bawl my eyes out. Well when shot time came the nurse gave him his shots, he cried for about 30 seconds and then was back to his happy self. No tears were shed on my end and it wasn't as traumatizing as I had thought. I feel like I dodged a bullet. We will see if I'm as lucky next time.

This is my favorite video of Henry talking so far.

One Month Already

I can't believe its already been a month since Henry was born. It seems like it was just yesterday that we came home from the hospital. You always hear people say "they grow up so fast". Well now I believe them. He is such a good baby and people constantly tell us how lucky we are. He is seriously the cutest thing around. We can't get enough of him.

In the last week he has started "talking" which is mostly little coo's or yelling noises followed by smiles. Pretty much the cutest thing ever. He has started sleeping more at night and less during the day. His favorite thing to do is fight taking a nap. I love it and by love it I mean hate it. He tolerates tummy time. He eats like a champ and has the gut and double chin to show for it.

I think we are getting settled into our roles as mom and dad. We have accepted the fact that our clothes will now be covered in spit up and think puppy pants are cute. Who would have thought you could get excited about poop faces and farts. The dogs love him and want to constantly lick him. One rule...not in the face.

We also finally moved into our new house. I will post pictures eventually. Check out our backyard it's pretty amazing.

Holy S%#t It's Almost Time

One more week and we will officially be parents. Talk about being extremely excited and slightly terrified at the same time. I mean I've been preparing myself for this day for about 9 months but I still can't believe he's almost here.

38 weeks and about to explode

As I talked about before this kid is breech. We went to see if he could be turned but no can do. Not only is he wedged in my pelvis but he also has a giant head (thanks to his dad). Oh and did I mention he's bigger than anyone expected. I mean he's no 10 pounder but at 36 weeks he was already 7 lbs. So bye bye natural birth, hello cesarean. At first I was a little sad that I would be missing out on the experience of natural birth. Then I thought about it and well..I don't have to deal with contractions, pushing and a possibly torn vag. Which I'm ok with. Also, I don't have to worry about going over my due date. I'm already beyond uncomfortable so that is a relief.

We had our last outing over the weekend. Our friends invited us to go to one of our favorite restaurants downtown. I got to eat some amazing chicken and waffles and end the night with the best white chocolate bread pudding ever. Before you hate on chicken and waffles go try them. You will change your mind, trust me. Now we are back to our anti-social ways. Rob is getting some last minute video games in while I sit on the couch and read blogs. Later we might be adventurous and watch a Netflix movie. Welcome to our lives.

So now I get to play the waiting game. This week will either fly by or creep along. Wish us luck!

We also got this super fun game called Munchkin. If you have never played it I suggest you do. It is super fun.

Being Breech and House Hunting.

So much is going on right now. Lets start with the fact that we are going to be parents in less than 4 weeks. I can't believe it's finally time. I feel like it flew by but at the same time took forever. Does that make sense? Maybe that's just pregnancy logic. I am so ready though. I'm tired of waddling, heartburn and not being able to tie my shoes.

How we spend our days now.

So I went to the doctor two weeks ago and she did an ultrasound to check his position. Of course by that time he should be head down and ready to go. Not my child. He was breech. That means he is butt down and sitting comfortably in my uterus. So she said next appointment we would check and see if he turns. I googled ways to turn a breech baby and did the exercises and tricks. Insert today's appointment. So we did another ultrasound and of course he hasn't moved an inch. Obviously he is my kid. Stubborn. So we were given two options. We could go ahead a schedule a c-section and just wait. The other option is to see another doctor who specializes in breech babies. We would go get an ultrasound from him and he can determine whether he can move the baby which is called an external cephalic version (ECV) or not. According to our doctor, some babies that have been breech the whole time may have a reason why they haven't turned. So we decided to see this other doctor and learn a little more about why our baby is breech. If he thinks he can turn him I think we might give it a try. At first I didn't want to do it but if he can do it safely then I might as well give it a try.

On a brighter note. We have been house hunting for the last few weeks. We found a few good houses and a lot of bad ones. Yesterday we looked at a house. Well the people leasing the house would not leave so we could look at the house, which was awkward enough. On top of that I'm pretty sure they were part of some cult and wanted to sacrifice my first born child. So we got out of there a.s.a.p. Well we did find a house we liked and put in an offer. We found out today they accepted it! So we are super excited!

Keep your fingers crossed that we find out more next week. Until then I will be standing on my head and laying upside down.

The Things They Don't Tell You.

So this is my pregnancy rant. It might get a little TMI. If you can't handle it then you've come to the wrong place. When I got pregnant people told me about the wonderful things that would happen to me over the months. The only bad things mentioned were morning sickness, sore boobs, tiredness and mood swings. Well let me tell you there is so much more that they don't tell you.

First off, if you like to poop don't get pregnant. No one tells you that. Once you get pregnant your pooping card is revoked. Constipation is now like that wannabe friend that wont leave you alone. You want it to go away but it just keeps lingering around. Not only does it suck but it is so embarrassing. You might as well carry a plunger with you every time you got to the bathroom because I guarantee you will need it. I told you it was TMI. It's not my fault you kept reading.

Now in my third trimester my pelvic area and hips hurt so bad. Some times I can barely walk. It feels like someone took a baseball bat to my pelvic area. They told me that you would get uncomfortable but come on. Every time I stand up I regret it and want to sit back down. I don't waddle because I'm big, I waddle because I'm in pain or I have to pee. Oh the peeing. Having a child dance on your bladder is no fun. Of course he does it when I have to pee so bad I can barely make it to the toilet.

The pregnancy glow is not a glow. It's more like an oil slick on my face. It's like my teenage years all over again minus the pizza face.

Now don't get me wrong I love the fact that I am pregnant and have this little guy kicking me in the ribs. It's an awesome feeling. I know I'm very lucky to experience this since some people cannot. I just needed to get a few things off my chest. I wish someone had given me a heads up. Especially about the pooping. I'm getting to the point where I just want him to be here already. Only eight weeks left! Cannot wait to meet this little trouble maker.

Thank you for sticking around for my little rant. I feel so much better. Now time to relax before my day long child birth class tomorrow.
